Faced with a growing congregation, the pastor realized the present church would soon be inadequate, but was at a loss to find funds for a more suitable one. It happened that a local gentleman of Quaker descent and of some means told the pastor that he really would like to see another appropriate edifice raised to God. He was a little short of ready cash, but owned a parcel of land a few miles away blessed with a great deal of good building stone. The pastor was welcome to quarry whatever was needed.
Presumably utilizing considerable local labor and craftsmanship, the church was quickly erected, dedicated, and consecrated. This all came to pass in the middle 's and the church has served the community well for all that time.
